Crete:Greece

I had some grilled octopus for dinner. Octopus is pretty common in Greece, and it took me 18 days into the trip to muster up the courage to eat any. It was just like really dense calamari, I guess. The restaurant we were at seemed to have forgotten about our existence, so we hung out for about a half an hour after we finished eating. Once they finally cleared our plates, they brought us our free dessert (not uncommon in Greece). Most places give you small dessert plates or a few slices of watermelon, but this place brought out huge, fat puffies like cream puffs minus the cream and 4 fruit syrups to dip them into. That's in addition to the typical watermelon and carafe of Raki.
Then we waited another half an hour to get the bill.
