Day 149

The Cigarette is Dead

Who killed it? Naysayers, that's who.

I was leaving work, driving out of the Wells Fargo parking lot when I noticed that this car had a generator hanging out its tailgate and that a projector was on. About a week ago I saw two cars in the same parking lot that were on with people (and two doggies) sleeping in them (come to think of it, that was the night of Tom's going away party. I had noticed these cars when I had just gotten off of work at 11PM, and they were still there at 1AM when I was leaving the party.). Anyway, I thought maybe this was the case tonight, only that maybe they were watching a movie in the back of their car.

Long story short, this guy told me that it's a part of a (state funded? I think so) viral anti-smoking campaign. This is just the first step, but soon it will unfurl and grow into its entirety. Keep your eyes out, kids. Anti-smoking is going to be the new smoking.

----------

According to NOAA's website, as of 5PM tonight we had gotten 5 less inches of rainfall in 2008 than we do on average by this time of year. Since that's not counting the constant downpour we've had since about 6 or 7PM that's supposed to last almost until 5PM tomorrow, I have a feeling that we're going to nearly catch up.

I would have guessed that even before tonight we were having a more than average rainy year. Maybe we were just kind of dry throughout May and it's taking a while to catch up...Or maybe these gloomy days really just build up in my mind and I just think it's been like this for the last month straight.

Dusty played that song for me a couple of days ago. I like the video.
