And then there was nothing.

Day 5

Title: The Calm Before the Storm

Title: Touch the Sky

Work. Cha-ching.

In other news, the city of Boulder decided to honor 4:20 by doing some smoking of its own. There was (maybe still is, I don't know) a fire burning right where Canyon actually enters the canyon. I rode my bike to within a few hundred yards of it and took some pictures. The smoke was so thick that my eyes were burning, and my shirt now smells like a campfire. Ash was actually falling out of the sky. You could feel the mist from the fire hoses hitting your face. The easterly winds made it so that all of downtown Boulder was covered in a blanket of smoke.

I was sitting in a neighborhood watching the smoke rise when I overheard a couple that had just bought one of the condos right there. They just started moving in today. The FOR SALE sign was lying on its side in the front yard. The fire was probably less than a quarter of a mile up the hill from them.

Hopefully they still have their home tonight.
